Over 40 million Americans, more than 12 million children suffer from hunger. One in four families in Maryland is food insecure.
Childhood hunger exists in every county in America. Help ICA eliminate child hunger in the U.S. ICA distributed an est. 47k, lbs of food (and milk) to the needy families on Aug. 16.
We are able to what we do because of our volunteers. We rely on our over 100 volunteers to implement our projects - Food distribution and other programing which are designed to not only engage the community, but to serve those in need. Indian culture is all about acceptance of others and SEVA (service). We exist to serve to our community, serve each other. To serve others, peace and non-violence is the Indian way.
On 08/16/20 - ICA distributed over 47,000 lbs of food, which included 1,000 gallons of milk, to needy families at the Durga Temple in Fairfax, VA.
ICA is dedicated to SEVA (a Sanskrit word for service) and, social responsibility. These are troubled times. We stand together to eradicate hunger in our community.
