FEEDING HOWARD COUNTY
FOOD is a HUMAN RIGHT!
With gas and grocery prices skyrocketing, hunger in our community is unprecedented.
1 in 4 children enrolled in Howard County Schools participates in the FARM (Free and Reduced Meals Program). And more than a third of Howard County families struggle to put food on their tables. As part of ICA's COVID-19 Response, ICA distributed about 3,000,000 lbs. of food to needy families in our community. ICA distributed more food to struggling families during the pandemic than the Howard County food bank. OUR SERVICE has IMPACTED tens of thousands of people.
Free Food Distributions
No ID required. No questions asked. All are welcome in our food lines. We serve with gratitude. Follow our Facebook page about our food distribution schedule.

Little Free Pantry
The Little Free Pantry is a place where neighbors can exercise compassion, trust, and mutual aid. We have installed LFPs (Little Free Pantries) throughout Howard County. ICA's Little Free Pantries offer support to struggling communities 24/7. The LFP is a safety net. The concept is simple.
TAKE WHAT YOU NEED, GIVE WHAT YOU CAN.

Food Salvage
ICA is trying to set up a FOOD SALVAGE facility.
40% of all food produced, perfectly good food, is wasted.
If we could salvage only a portion of that, everyone could eat.

If you know if any facility that has excess food that will go to waste, let us know and we will recover it. It is a crime against humanity to let food go to waste when we have hungry kids.
Farming
Expanding our efforts to alleviate hunger in our community, ICA is developing a 26-acre farm in Woodbine, MD. If you would like to volunteer, help to build greenhouses, clear the land, or help with our community garden, etc., please email us: team@ICAHoward.org. We thank you in advance!
